The Coalition of Middle Belt Groups has issued a public apology to House of Representatives member, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, retracting their earlier accusation that he influenced the Court of Appeal judgements on Plateau State elections.
The group blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for misleading them and distorting facts.
Dr. Ben Omale, the convener of the group, clarified that their initial position was based on a hasty interpretation of a video, acknowledging that Gagdi’s statement was misconstrued.
After thorough scrutiny of evidence, the group admitted that their earlier stance did not reflect the reality on the ground.
Omale expressed regret over the Coalition’s reliance on a single narrative propagated by the PDP, emphasizing the importance of considering both sides of the story before taking s stand
The group apologized to Gagdi for the misleading press conference and its potential impact on his reputation in Plateau state and the country.
The Coalition called out the PDP for a “sinister plot” to cause disaffection in the polity, urging them to desist from campaigns against the judiciary.
They emphasized Gagdi’s exoneration from any involvement or influence in the Court of Appeal rulings on Plateau State elections.
