Kogidecides2023: Vote buying recorded in parts of Lokoja despite presence of operatives

There are reported cases of vote buying in some polling units as voting continues in the governorship election in Kogi State.

Pmnews.ng found many voters discussing how they were promised N5,000 if they voted for a particular political party.

Our Correspondent witnessed the interaction in the Miami Polling unit around the Adankolo area in Lokoja where an agent of a particular party was seen seriously monitoring and trying to see who the voters voted for before effecting payment at a nearby compound.

The development comes despite the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offense Commission deployment of operatives to curb vote buying in the Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa gubernatorial elections.

Earlier, Pmnews.ng reported that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were allegedly caught with pre-recorded result sheets of some polling units in Kogi state.
