Ombugadu: I remain Governor of Nasarawa State – Sule rejects tribunal judgment

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called for calm among his supporters and the people of the state, following the recent tribunal ruling nullifying his election.

He assured the people of the state that he remains the governor until the appeals process is exhausted, stating that the law permits him to appeal again.

Addressing his supporters and the public Monday evening, Governor Sule acknowledged the temporary setback but vowed to appeal the judgement at the higher court.

He thanked his numerous supporters, especially stakeholders and youths. He particularly thanked the women who are not able to be part of this but who stood out there throughout the trial.

Governor Abdullahi extended his gratitude to the security agencies, the various men who continue to stand under the rain just to support him.

“I remain the Governor until I appeal, and the law permits us to appeal again. And no matter what happens at that moment, I still remain the Governor until we go to the Supreme Court,” stated Governor Sule.

Sule urged the people of Nasarawa State to remain calm and avoid any actions that could disrupt peace and order in the state.

The governor stressed that protests or unrest wouldn’t change the tribunal’s decision, stressing the importance of trust in the judicial system and the appeal process.
