Danjibga: Carry out investigation to unravel death of Zamfara journalist – I-CSPJ tasks security agencies

The International Press Council (IPC) Centre for Safety and Protection of Journalists (I-CSPJ), has advised security agencies to carry out an investigation to unravel the death of Hamisu Danjibga.

The council made this disclosure on Thursday.

Pmnews.ng gathered that Danjibga was one of the veteran journalists in Zamfara State.

It was learnt that the journalist was allegedly killed in a controversial manner.

He was found dead in a soakaway pit in his house on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

The veteran journalist, before his death, worked with the Voice of Nigeria (VON) for several years.

IPC Executive Director, Mr Lanre Arogundade, while reacting, described the circumstances of Danjibga’s death as bizarre.

Arogundade in a statement made available to Pmnews.ng advised security agencies to carry out investigation to unravel the death of the veteran journalist.

He said, “We urge security agencies to carry out immediate and thorough investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding his death. This will go a long way to bring succour to the family and colleagues that Hamisu Danjibga left behind.”
